At Bathgate Flooring, we’re passionate about reducing our environmental impact across every facet of our business.

Here’s a closer look at how we champion sustainability…

Green Office Spaces

  • Eco-Friendly Packaging: We use reusable/recyclable wooden pallets and recyclable cardboard, wrap, and strapping.
  • Smart Project Planning: Panels are meticulously planned and counted to minimise site waste. We recycle site waste and off-cuts.
  • Efficient Transportation: Our fleet includes fuel-efficient vehicles for full loads and pallet services for smaller loads.

With FSC Chain of Custody certification, we ensure our materials are sustainably sourced. Bathgate Flooring is always striving to offer more sustainable construction materials.

Our Commitment to Recycling

At Bathgate Flooring, recycling is a core part of our operations. We seize every opportunity to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Turning Waste into Resources: We segregate general waste, including steel, paper, plastic, and polyester, for recycling or energy extraction, ensuring no waste from our manufacturing process ends up in landfill. We also accept site waste and off-cuts for recycling, repurposing steel and wood. Sawdust from manufacturing heats our factory via a biomass burner.

FSC® Certified: We hold FSC® Chain of Custody certification (Certificate No. INT-COC-002106), ensuring our materials are sustainably sourced. We only purchase particle board from FSC® certified sources within the EU and pass this custody chain onto the end user.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Managing our carbon footprint is a top priority at Bathgate Flooring. We consider our environmental impact in manufacturing, premises, and transport.

Permaflor raised access flooring meets both business and environmental demands, holding FSC® Chain of Custody and ISO 14001 certifications.

Our state-of-the-art production facility features a dust extraction system that directs sawdust to a biomass furnace, heating the factory and reducing reliance on carbon fuels. Our panels incorporate recycled materials, and we recycle all production and office waste.

Low Energy Lighting Systems and Harnessing Renewables

Our offices are equipped with LED lighting and motion sensors, cutting energy use by over 50%. Refurbished skylights in the factory further reduce our dependence on electric lighting. Additionally, our Clean Air Biomass Burner efficiently handles sawdust, heating the factory and nearly eliminating the need for carbon fuels.
