James Ridley, George Craig and George Townsend will complete 4 Rounds of Golf in a single weekend to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
Three of our team have signed up to the Great Golf Challenge on 26th – 27th September 2020. This is run by Cancer Research UK, it is an outdoor challenge which allows small groups to raise money by playing golf in a way that allows a social distance to be maintained.
However, this is a challenge – so its not just one round of golf. They have to complete four rounds of golf in just one weekend. With an average 18 hole course taking 4 hours to complete, they really are making a commitment to at least 16 hours of golf. To be honest, at least one of the team freely admits to not being very good – so it could be a very long weekend indeed!
It’s probably a good idea that we are providing them with extra golf balls, I am sure a few will disappear in the long grass, get buried in a sand bank or sink into a pond. They will have to keep going to complete the course in time.
2020 has been a tricky one for charities. They are largely dependent on social events for fundraising to keep their activities going. Many of these events involve large social groups and have had to be cancelled this year as we all get to grips with Social Distancing. So we are hoping that you will find a little spare cash to support this most worthy of causes.
Or – if you prefer, take the challenge yourself and raise even more money for Cancer Research UK.
